Zoo prices remain largely stable - Halle Zoo raises ticket prices by €1 and scraps family discount option

Visitors to Halle Zoo will soon pay more to enter, as the attraction raises ticket prices by €1 across several categories. The move comes alongside the removal of its groupme ticket option, while other zoos in the region have chosen to keep their fees unchanged.

From next year, adults, Halle Pass holders, chaperones, and even dogs will each face an extra €1 charge at Halle Zoo. The decision also scraps the family dollar ticket, which previously offered discounted group entry.

Meanwhile, nearby animal parks in Stendal and Aschersleben have confirmed their prices will stay the same. Magdeburger Zoo, too, will not increase admission costs—despite receiving an additional €400,000 in subsidies for 2026. Commercial director David Pruß, who oversees the zoo’s finances, secured the extra funding after submitting a feasibility study and long-term sustainability plan. The city government approved the increase, though visitor forecasts for 2026 have been adjusted down to 245,000, lower than the initial estimate of 270,000.

Halle Zoo’s price changes will take effect in the coming months, affecting individual and group visitors alike. The zoo’s decision contrasts with the stable pricing at other regional attractions, where subsidies or existing budgets have kept costs unchanged.
