Halle's 2026 Anti-Racism Weeks Unite Through Art and Dialogue
Halle (Saale) will host its 2026 Anti-Racism Education Weeks from March 14 to 29. The event kicks off with a festival at Neues Theater, featuring music, workshops, and discussions. Under the theme Overcoming Division—Reconnecting!, the programme aims to bring together diverse groups through education and creativity.
The opening festival on March 14 will include performances by artists such as Mariam Koné, Songs für Huckleberry, and Diana Shcherbakova. Attendees can also take part in a silent disco, a living library, and hands-on workshops like screen printing and spray-painting. Lord Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt and Education Minister Jan Riedel will officially welcome visitors to the event.
Over the following two weeks, nearly 60 activities will unfold across the city. These include exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, and guided tours. Around 20 local organisations and initiatives will contribute, offering information and interactive sessions. The initiative is backed by the Halle Alliance for Diversity and funded by Saxony-Anhalt's Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality. The city itself serves as the patron for the event. The programme will close on March 28 with a final gathering at Mitmischen e.V.
The Anti-Racism Education Weeks will provide workshops, talks, and cultural events until March 29. Organisers have planned a mix of entertainment and learning to encourage dialogue and connection. The festival's theme reflects a focus on unity and shared experiences.
