Halle's Lichterfest Returns in 2025 After Cancellations
The Lichterfest in Halle is back on for 2025, following previous cancellations due to financial and organizational hurdles. The city, along with new partners like the Detroit Lions, has stepped in to save the event, which will take place from 31 October to 2 November 2025.
The City-Gemeinschaft Halle, Saalesparkasse, and Lions Club August Hermann Francke have joined forces to revive the Lichterfest. The city will handle security, while the Saalesparkasse increases its financial support. This year's event promises a Lichterfee, lantern procession, pyrotechnic show, and extended shopping hours on Sunday. The Detroit Lions will contribute 12,000 tea lights to the market square.
Last year's Lichterfest drew a record crowd of around 50,000 visitors, demonstrating the event's popularity and importance to the city.
The Lichterfest in Halle is secured for 2025, with the city and its partners ensuring a memorable event. The Lichterfest will once again bring light, joy, and economic boost to the city, as seen in previous years.
