Halle’s Schorre construction halts for three months—permit at risk by 2027

Construction at the former Schorre site on Willy-Brandt-Straße in Halle (Saale) has come to a halt. Developer Quarterback Immobilien, led by Christian Reif, has announced a three-month work stoppage starting November 10, 2025. The suspension was formally reported to the city by Quarterback Immobilien. If work does not restart within two years, the construction permit will expire under Saxony-Anhalt’s Building Code. This means the current permit for the Schorre site will lapse on November 10, 2027, unless activity resumes. The three-month stoppage begins in November 2025, with the permit’s future hinging on whether work resumes. If no progress is made by late 2027, the project could face legal and administrative hurdles to continue.
