AfD Hamburg confirms Nockemann as party leader - Hamburg’s AfD re-elects Nockemann with near-unanimous party support
Hamburg’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) has re-elected its leadership team with strong backing from members. Dirk Nockemann remains chairman after securing nearly 90 percent of the vote. The party also confirmed its existing board, including long-serving treasurer Peggy Heitmann.
The vote took place on 22 November 2025, with no changes to the executive committee. Dirk Nockemann, who has led the AfD’s parliamentary group in Hamburg’s Bürgerschaft since 2017, will continue as party chair. His priorities include professionalising the organisation, broadening its influence, and preparing for future elections.
The re-election confirms the party’s current direction under Nockemann’s leadership. With no new faces in the executive roles, the AfD in Hamburg will focus on expanding its political presence. The next test will come in upcoming regional and national elections.
