The number of children in daycare in Hamburg decreased slightly by 1% compared to the previous year. Despite this, the city's daycare system remains robust, with diverse providers catering to the needs of young children. Free providers, such as the Fröbel group, known for its focus on language and literacy promotion, and specific Kitas like Kita Sandkamp in Hamburg Horn, which emphasizes integration, language, and movement, play significant roles. The Deutscher Kitaverband, an association representing many independent operators, ensures the voices of free daycare providers are heard in Germany.

Hamburg's daycare system continues to provide care credit for a substantial number of children, with various institutions and individuals working together to meet the city's needs. Despite a slight decrease in numbers, the system remains diverse and committed to offering quality care and education to young children.
