Hamburg’s Month of Municipal Enterprise Opens Doors to Public-Sector Careers
Hamburg is set to host its annual Month of Municipal Enterprise from November 5 to 29, 2023. The campaign, running under the slogan We Make Hamburg, will feature over 60 events designed to give residents an inside look at public-sector work. Organisers aim to highlight the diverse careers and industries that support the city’s common good.
One of the key events includes a construction-site tour by Hamburger Hochbahn AG, offering a firsthand view of progress on the new U5 metro line. Dr. Petra Merkel, the company’s managing director, will also take part in an interview during the campaign.
The Month of Municipal Enterprise will run for nearly four weeks, offering tours, workshops, and discussions. Residents will have the chance to explore how public-sector work directly impacts daily life in the city. The initiative also serves as a platform for networking and career insights within Hamburg’s municipal companies.
