Hamburg’s new road safety campaign lights up autumn for children and seniors

A new road safety campaign for children and seniors will launch this autumn in Hamburg. The initiative, called Visibility in the Dark Season, focuses on keeping vulnerable road users safe during the darker months. Organised by the Hamburg Road Safety Forum and Hamburg Police, the programme includes events across the city.

The campaign kicks off on November 20, 2024, at Ansgar Parish Church in Hamburg-Langenhorn. Andreas Nieberding, Deputy Head of the Traffic Directorate, will open the event with a speech. Singer-songwriter Rolf Zuckowski will perform live at the launch, as well as at two later events in Harburg and Wandsbek.

The campaign will run throughout the autumn, covering multiple districts in Hamburg. The events bring together children and seniors to improve awareness of road risks during the darker season. Organisers have not yet disclosed the full list of partner organisations involved.
