Hanoians in Germany Mark City's Liberation Day and 50 Years of Vietnam-Germany Ties
The Association of Hanoians in Germany recently hosted a gathering to commemorate Hà Nội's Liberation Day (October 10), coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations and the 15th anniversary of the association itself.
The event was attended by members, overseas Vietnamese, and representatives of Vietnamese associations from across Germany. It featured documentary photos and stories that evoked memories of Hà Nội during its liberation. Members shared nostalgic recollections and personal reflections on Hà Nội's impact on their lives.
Công Việt Cường, Chairman of the Association, recalled the historical significance of Hà Nội's liberation in 1954. The Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany, Nguyen Dac Thanh, also participated in the event. Dặng Hoàng Linh, Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, praised the association's efforts in fostering community cohesion and supporting flood-hit areas in Vietnam. The gathering concluded with timeless songs, rekindling national pride and fond memories of Hà Nội's liberation.
The Association of Hanoians in Germany, established 15 years ago, continues to promote cultural and social activities that advance people-to-people diplomacy and enhance Vietnam's global image. The recent gathering served as a poignant reminder of Hà Nội's liberation and the enduring bonds between Vietnamese communities worldwide.
