Hawaiian Bros Taps Applebee’s Vet as New CMO to Fuel National Growth

Hawaiian Bros has named Shannon Scott as its new chief marketing officer. The fast-growing restaurant chain, which now operates over 70 locations across 12 states, announced the appointment in January 2026. Scott brings years of experience from leading marketing teams at Applebee’s and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Scott first joined Hawaiian Bros in a part-time role before stepping into the C-suite position. Her responsibilities now include overseeing brand strategy, national and local marketing, digital engagement, and market entry plans. The company is actively seeking experienced multi-unit franchise operators to fuel further growth.

Before joining Hawaiian Bros, Scott spent 16 years as a marketing executive at Applebee’s. She also led marketing efforts at the American Academy of Family Physicians. Scott Ford, president and CEO of Hawaiian Bros, described her as a strategic and creative leader. In her new role, Scott aims to deepen the emotional connection guests have with the brand. She also plans to develop a marketing platform that supports franchisees in every market. The chain, launched in 2018, has rapidly expanded to become one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands in the U.S.

Scott’s appointment comes as Hawaiian Bros continues its expansion push. The company now operates in 12 states and is looking to bring in more franchise partners. Her leadership will shape the brand’s strategy as it grows further across the country.
