Headless bison found dead sparks $4,250 reward for justice in Texas
A bison named Louisiana was found dead and headless on a Texas property in late November 2022. The owners, Shawn and Christy Neu, are now offering a reward of $4,250 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
The killing took place between November 23 and November 26 on the Neu family’s land in Cooke County. When discovered, the animal’s body was already decomposing, with its head missing. Sheriff Ray Sappington suggested that more than one person likely carried out the act, given the weight of a bison’s head.
The case remains unsolved, with no arrests made so far. The reward offered by the Neu family aims to encourage witnesses to provide crucial details. Investigators are still working to gather evidence that could lead to a breakthrough.
