HEICO Corporation Acquires Gables Engineering to Boost American Aviation Manufacturing

In a strategic move to bolster American manufacturing and engineering in the avionics sector, HEICO Corporation has announced the acquisition of Gables Engineering. The deal, a cash transaction, is expected to boost HEICO's earnings within a year and reinforce its leadership position.

Gables Engineering, founded in 1946 and based in Coral Gables, Florida, is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced avionics controls. Their product range includes navigation, audio, surveillance, and communication panels for various aircraft, as well as next-generation touchscreen cockpit displays, such as those used in Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The acquisition of Gables Engineering will expand HEICO's capabilities in high-margin, advanced avionics components. With the integration of Gables' 108,000 sq. ft. facility and over 200 skilled engineers near HEICO's Florida headquarters, operational synergies are expected to be created, reducing integration costs and bolstering American aerospace manufacturing.

Andrew M. Jackson, representing Gables Engineering's senior leadership, expressed excitement about joining the HEICO family. The partnership is seen as a natural fit for HEICO's culture of performance, innovation, and long-term growth.

The acquisition is expected to be accretive to HEICO's earnings within one year, with the company's 2026 EBITDA projected to reach about $1.2 billion. Given the global avionics market's expected growth from $99.33 billion in 2025 to $179.44 billion by 2032, this acquisition is expected to significantly contribute to the company's growth.

Moreover, the partnership will support continued research and development in flight deck technologies, reinforcing advances in cockpit systems and securing HEICO’s position in both OEM and aftermarket aviation segments. The acquisition reinforces HEICO's commitment to investing in high-quality, American manufacturing and engineering excellence.

Laurans A. Mendelson, Eric A. Mendelson, and Victor H. Mendelson serve as the Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officers of HEICO Corporation. They expressed optimism about the partnership's role in enhancing American manufacturing and engineering, stating that it aligns with their dedication to American engineering and enhances the domestic aerospace supply chain.

In conclusion, this acquisition positions HEICO to leverage Gables Engineering’s legacy of pioneering avionics solutions to meet growing demands in aerospace, strengthen U.S.-based manufacturing, and deliver advanced, reliable avionics systems to global customers.
