Helicopter patrols tighten security along German-Dutch border in crackdown
A special police operation took place today along the German-Dutch border. Authorities used a helicopter to carry out spot checks between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The focus was on stopping irregular migration, fighting cross-border crime, and preventing terrorist risks.
The Federal Police Directorate Hanover led the operation in the southern area under Bad Bentheim’s jurisdiction. A Super Puma transport helicopter from the Gifhorn Aviation Squadron supported ground teams during the checks.
The four-hour operation reinforced border security using aerial surveillance. Authorities continue to monitor the area for unauthorised crossings and criminal activity. The use of helicopters marks an ongoing effort to improve response times in high-risk zones.
