Herkenrath Ecumenical Talks Explore Church’s Future in November Series

The Herkenrath Ecumenical Autumn Talks, an annual event exploring the future of the Church, kick off this year with a lecture by political scientist Andreas Püttmann. The series concludes with an ecumenical service on November 19 at Herkenrath’s Catholic Church.

Püttmann's talk, titled 'Societal Impacts as Churches Lose Public Prominence', takes place on November 5 at the Evangelical Community Center in Bergisch Gladbach-Herkenrath. Admission is free, and no prior registration is needed. The event is part of the Day in GL newsletter's local news roundup, delivered every morning at 7:07 a.m.

On November 12, theologian and Bible expert Dr. Rita Müller-Fieberg will give a lecture on the second evening of the talks. Affiliated with the Institute for Teacher Education, Müller-Fieberg brings extensive experience in biblical exegesis to her presentation.

The Herkenrath Ecumenical Autumn Talks offer a unique opportunity to engage with thought leaders in theology and politics. Both lectures promise insightful discussions on the role of the Church in society, with Püttmann focusing on societal impacts and Müller-Fieberg delving into biblical interpretations.
