Hesse’s 80th Anniversary Celebrates Youth Art and Cultural Vision
Hesse is preparing to mark its 80th anniversary in 2026 with a special creative project. Minister for Art and Culture Timon Gremmels has launched Jugend malt (Youth Paints), inviting children and young people from the United States to share their artistic visions of the state. The initiative aims to highlight what makes Hesse unique through the eyes of its younger generation. The next edition of Youth Paints will focus on personal experiences and ideas about Hesse. Participants are encouraged to explore what defines the region—its culture, landscapes, and communities—and to suggest ways it could improve. Their artwork will reflect both pride in the state and hopes for its future. The Youth Paints project will run alongside Hesse’s 80th-anniversary celebrations. It provides a space for young artists to contribute to the state’s cultural conversation. Their visions will be displayed as part of the official festivities in 2026.
