Hesse’s Minister Strengthens Ties with South Korea’s Booming Economy
Manfred Pentz, Hesse's Minister for International Affairs, is currently on a multi-day working visit to South Korea. The trip aims to strengthen political and economic ties with the economy of the Asian nation, while also securing Hesse's status as a technology hub.
Pentz, accompanied by a delegation of business representatives and regional economic development agencies, will meet with high-ranking officials and visit companies during his stay. He will also discuss issues at the digital traffic control center in Seoul.
The visit is part of Hesse's strategy to remain visible and competitive in global competition. Pentz emphasizes the importance of democracies working more closely together and building bridges for innovative power. South Korea, with its economic strength and technological leadership, is seen as a natural partner due to its shared values.
The trip builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year with the South Korean province of Chungnam. Pentz met with the governor, Seungjo Yang, who signed the agreement. Existing economic ties between South Korea and Hesse include investments from Korean companies like Samsung and Hyundai.
The visit aims to intensify political and economic cooperation with South Korea, fostering new cooperation and securing Hesse's technology hub in the long term. Pentz's trip underscores Hesse's commitment to global partnerships and technological advancement.
