Hessischer Sozialpreis 2026 Seeks Digital Initiatives Strengthening Community Bonds
Applications are now open for the Hessischer Sozialpreis 2026, a prize recognising digital projects that improve social connections. The competition highlights initiatives using technology to foster solidarity and provide practical support. Organisations across Hesse have until 11 May 2026 to submit their entries.
The award targets projects that have been running for at least a year. Eligible applicants include municipalities, schools, associations, and groups in the cultural, health, and social sectors. Volunteer-led initiatives can also take part.
This year's focus is on digital solutions that bring people together. The prize values responsible use of technology to deliver real-world assistance. Dr. Markus Juch, Diocesan Caritas Director and Chair of the League of Free Welfare Organizations in Hesse, stressed that digital tools should serve people—not the other way around.
Previous editions of the Hessischer Sozialpreis have supported similar initiatives, though exact numbers of past winners remain undisclosed.
The deadline for submissions is 11 May 2026. Successful projects will demonstrate how digital applications strengthen community bonds and provide tangible help. Winners will be announced after the selection process concludes.
