High-Speed Chase on A100: 22-Year-Old Driver Arrested
A high-speed chase unfolded on the A100 highway in Charlottenburg yesterday. A 22-year-old man, driving a rental Mercedes, was stopped by plainclothes officers for speeding. The driver, whose name remains unknown, was pursued for around 15 kilometers before being forced to halt. The chase began near the Spandau Dam interchange, where the driver was seen overtaking officers from the 34th Mobile Unit. The pursuit continued until the driver was signalled to stop using a baton at the Britz Dam exit. The rental car was subsequently impounded for a technical assessment. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities exploring the possibility of an illegal street race. The driver's identity remains unknown, as search results did not yield his name. The 22-year-old man's reckless driving put other road users at risk. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the driver's identity to come forward. The impounded car will undergo a technical assessment to ensure it meets safety standards.
