There are group of people holding placards and walking. These are the trees. I can see small bushes. This is the banner. I can see a building with name boards attached to it. These look like cars. I think these are the current polls.

Himachal Pradesh’s 2025 Amendment Bill Triggers Political Storm and Opposition Walkout

The Himachal Pradesh government introduced a new amendment bill in early 2025, sparking immediate backlash from opposition parties. Led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state administration faced fierce criticism over the proposed changes, with accusations of favouritism and neglect of public interests.

The bill, known as the Amendments Bill 2025, was tabled in the state assembly on January 1, 2025. Opposition leaders, including Jairam Thakur of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), quickly raised objections. They argued that the legislation primarily served the interests of the ruling party’s allies rather than the broader needs of Himachal Pradesh.

The opposition’s walkout has deepened political divisions in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP’s continued protests suggest the Amendments Bill 2025 will remain a contentious issue in the coming months. The state government now faces mounting pressure to address the concerns raised or risk prolonged unrest.
