Historic building renovation hits key milestones with safety and roofing upgrades

A major renovation project has reached several key milestones in recent months. Work on the historic building’s inner courtyard, roofs, and technical systems has progressed steadily. Officials confirm that essential safety and structural upgrades remain on track for completion.

Between July and September 2025, crews completed the protective enclosure and support framework for the new gabled roofs in the main building. The scaffolding around the council chamber wing was also finished and approved by inspectors. In parallel, roof flashing in Tower I and Tower II was finalised, ensuring weatherproofing for the upper levels.

The latest progress ensures that critical upgrades to the building’s safety, structure, and functionality are advancing as planned. With foundational work largely complete, the focus will now shift to interior finishes and final technical installations. Further contract awards are expected to keep the renovation on schedule for its next deadlines.
