Ho Sy Hung Elected as New VCCI Chairman, Pledges Bold Innovation and Business Support
Ho Sy Hung has been elected as the new chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The election took place at the 11th meeting of the VCCI Executive Committee in Hanoi on November 3, 2021, with Hung succeeding Pham Tan Cong for the 2021–2026 term. Hung plans to drive bold innovation and listen to officials and enterprises to foster sustainable development.
Hung aims to focus on strategic meta industries such as the green economy, digital economy, and high-tech agriculture to stimulate growth and innovation. He also pledges to preserve unity and foster democracy within VCCI, upholding working principles with accountability and integrity.
VCCI, under Hung's leadership, calls for greater support for R&D costs of FDI firms, proposing an increase to over 50% for foreign direct investment businesses. It also advocates for clarification of VAT regulations for foreign suppliers to facilitate business operations.
In a collaborative effort, VCCI and PwC Vietnam have launched 'Doing Business in Vietnam' to empower investors and entrepreneurs navigating Vietnam's evolving economic landscape.
Hung's election signals a new chapter for VCCI, with a focus on strategic meta industries and improved business support. His commitment to unity, democracy, and accountability promises a strong and prosperous future for Vietnam's business community.
