Höcke Faces Protests at AfD Event in Thuringia
Björn Höcke, the leader of Thuringia’s AfD state and parliamentary group, faced protests during his appearance in Stadtlengsfeld. The event, titled '10 Years of Open Borders – A Citizens’ Dialogue with Björn Höcke and Stefan Möller', was organized by the AfD. Around 60 members of the initiative 'Grandmothers Against the Far Right' demonstrated against Höcke's presence.
Inside the Feldatalhalle, 300 attendees greeted Höcke with a prolonged standing ovation. Federal lawmaker Stefan Möller and state parliamentarian Uwe Krell introduced Höcke as the 'future Minister-President of Thuringia'. However, not everyone was pleased with the event. Some local officials in Stadtlengsfeld have expressed reservations about future political gatherings of this kind in the municipal venue.
Despite the protests, Höcke's appearance at the event was met with enthusiasm by many attendees. The AfD's influence in Thuringia continues to be a topic of debate, with some seeing Höcke as a potential future leader and others opposing his views.
