Berliner Loses Wedding Ring in Bavaria - And Gets It Back - Honest truck driver returns €4,000 wedding ring found at motorway rest stop
A truck driver has returned a valuable wedding ring after discovering it in a motorway rest stop bathroom. The ring, worth around €4,000, was handed in to police in Oberviechtach, Bavaria. Its owner, a man from Berlin, will soon travel to reclaim it.
The ring was found on 3 March at a service area along the A93. The truck driver, whose name was not released, immediately took it to local police. Officers confirmed the ring's value and traced its owner to Berlin.
The Berlin resident will now collect the ring in person. Police have arranged for its return in the coming days. The owner has also expressed a wish to thank the driver for his honesty.
The ring will be handed back after a brief journey from the motorway rest stop to the police station. Its owner's trip from Berlin marks the final step in its return. The incident highlights how lost items can still find their way home.
