Houston podiatrist arrested after hidden bathroom camera discovered at clinic
A Houston podiatrist has been arrested after a hidden camera was found in an employee bathroom. Dr. Douglas Hansen faces charges of attempted invasive visual recording following the discovery on February 20, 2023. The device was allegedly placed under a sink, directed at the toilet.
The camera was uncovered by an employee at Dr. Hansen's private practice in Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Plaza. Three female staff members were identified as victims, with reports that their children also used the same bathroom.
Investigators are now examining the device to determine what was recorded and how long it remained in place. Dr. Hansen was arrested immediately after the discovery and later released on a $100 bond. No other similar incidents involving Dr. Hansen have been reported in Houston or Texas over the past five years. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 9, 2023.
The case remains under investigation as authorities review the camera's contents. Dr. Hansen's legal proceedings will continue next month. The incident has raised concerns among employees and patients at the medical practice.
