How a Microsoft alum built Lenskart into India’s eyewear giant

Peyush Bansal, a McGill University graduate and former Microsoft employee, is the driving force behind Lenskart, India's leading omnichannel eyewear retailer. Under his leadership, the company has grown exponentially since its inception in 2010.

Bansal, who is also an investor on the popular TV show Shark Tank India, co-founded Lenskart in Gurugram a decade ago. Today, the company boasts over 2,000 stores across India, a testament to Bansal's strategic vision and leadership.

Lenskart's growth hasn't been limited to the Indian subcontinent. The company has expanded internationally, making inroads into the Middle East and Southeast Asia. In 2021, Lenskart entered the UAE market, establishing a strong retail presence in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Peyush Bansal's entrepreneurial journey, from a Microsoft employee to leading Lenskart's global expansion, is a remarkable success story. With over 2,000 stores and an international footprint, Lenskart continues to grow under Bansal's stewardship.
