Carrey's journey began on a Texas farm, where he honed his problem-solving skills. This foundation led him to study engineering at West Point. Post-graduation, he co-founded RNK Running in Colorado, a community-driven retailer supporting local athletes and events.

His career has since spanned engineering, business strategy, and leadership. As Head of Operations for Run Specialty Group, Carrey grew a network of over 50 specialty running stores nationwide. His ability to build and lead teams also shone in his role modernising training for trades like cosmetology and HVAC.
