Hünfeld and Proskau Strengthen Ties with New Joint Projects Ahead of 2027 Anniversary
A delegation from the Hünfeld Partnership Association recently travelled to Proskau for their yearly planning meeting. The visit focused on strengthening ties between the two cities, with discussions on future projects and celebrations. Local officials and school leaders joined the talks to explore new collaborations.
Proskau Mayor Krzysztof Cebula and Bianka Zymla greeted the Hünfeld group upon their arrival. The delegation, led by Mayor Benjamin Tschesnok, included Petra Richter-Rehberg, Florian Helgert, and other members of the Proskau working group. All five headteachers from Proskau's schools also took part in the planning sessions.
Over the weekend, the two cities outlined several joint initiatives. Key topics included preparations for their 30th partnership anniversary in 2027 and plans for student exchanges. Other proposals featured a cycling tour, exchanges between fire brigades and football teams, and a cultural evening in Hünfeld showcasing Proskau artists. The visit wrapped up with a shared dinner and a church service attended by the Hünfeld delegation.
The meeting set the stage for closer cooperation between Hünfeld and Proskau. Specific projects, such as student exchanges and cultural events, will now move forward in planning. Both sides aim to mark their 30-year partnership with expanded activities and shared celebrations.
