Hürth’s Bold Plan for Alt-Hürth Moves Forward After Council Approval
The City of Hürth has taken a major step forward in shaping the future of Alt-Hürth. All funding documents for the Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK) were submitted on time to the Cologne Regional Government. The project aims to transform the historic core through targeted measures in retail, housing, climate, transport, and urban planning.
The planning process began with support from consulting firms postwelters+partner mbB and CIMA Beratung + Management GmbH. Their work helped develop a detailed strategy for Alt-Hürth’s future challenges. On September 2, 2025, the City Council gave its unanimous approval, setting the stage for a decade of implementation.
The ISEK Alt-Hürth now moves from planning to action. If funding is secured, the measures will address social, economic, and ecological shifts in the area. The next steps depend on the Cologne Regional Government’s review of the application.
