Hüsten's town centre reveals striking upgrades ahead of Urban Development Day

Hüsten's town centre is undergoing visible improvements, thanks to ongoing urban development efforts. The district management team has reported positive mid-term results, with upgrades to buildings and public spaces now clearly on show. A special event on Saturday, May 9, will highlight these changes during the Urban Development Funding Day. The façade improvement program has already transformed parts of Hüsten. Many buildings in the town centre have been cleaned, repainted, or fully restored. Property owners can still apply for grants covering up to 50% of renovation costs, with submissions open until October 2026.

Other changes include the removal of intrusive advertising installations. New fences and entrance areas have also been designed to enhance the area's appearance. Meanwhile, the Hüsten Working Group has created a flyer for the 'Hüsten Art Tour,' guiding visitors to public artworks across the neighbourhood. For those seeking information, the district management team now holds weekly office hours. Starting from Tuesday, April 7, staff will be available every Tuesday from 10 AM to 3 PM. Their office is at Marktstraße 3A, located to the left of the Hüsten Branch Library.

The Urban Development Funding Day on May 9 will give residents and visitors a chance to see Hüsten's progress firsthand. With ongoing funding for building upgrades and regular support from the district team, further improvements are expected. The flyer for the 'Hüsten Art Tour' remains available, though no specific artworks in the city centre are currently listed in public records.
