Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills by-election results unfold after tight race

A by-election was held in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills constituency on November 11, following the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June 2023. The counting process began at 8 AM on November 12, with a total of 10 rounds planned.

The by-election saw a voter turnout of 48.49%. The BJP fielded L Deepak Reddy, while the ruling Congress candidate, Naveen Yadav, enjoyed the support of Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM. As per initial trends, Naveen Yadav was marginally ahead of his BRS rival, Maganti Sunita. This by-election is a repeat of the 2019 by-election, where the vote counting also began on May 2.

The counting process is underway and is expected to be completed in 10 rounds. The results will determine the new representative for the Jubilee Hills constituency.
