Hyve launches German HQ in Berlin to drive DACH cloud expansion

British cloud provider Hyve has opened its German headquarters in southern Berlin. The move marks a strategic expansion into the DACH region, with a focus on sustainability and tailored services for local businesses. Mike Woton leads the new branch, which currently employs four staff members and plans to fill 12 more roles soon.

Hyve Managed Hosting GmbH was established in Berlin due to the city's cultural alignment with the company's Brighton headquarters. The subsidiary supports a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, education, e-commerce, logistics, finance, and the public sector. Services include private and enterprise cloud solutions, colocation, and cybersecurity.

The company partners with data centre providers in Munich, Frankfurt, and Berlin, offering Tier 3 and Tier 4 facilities. Resilience is a key priority, with dual power sources, battery backups, N+1 cooling systems, and electrical redundancies in place. Hyve also collaborates with data centres powered by renewable energy to reduce its carbon footprint. Beyond Germany, Hyve plans to open three more locations in the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain. These expansions aim to better serve European customers while maintaining the same standards of sustainability and reliability.

Hyve's German team is currently small but backed by an external group of 15 from the UK headquarters. The company's focus on resilience, renewable energy, and tailored services positions it for growth in the DACH market. Further expansions across Europe are expected to strengthen its regional presence.
