IAEA Seeks Access to Iran's Nuclear Sites Amid US Bombing Strikes

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is engaged in ongoing talks with Iranian authorities, aiming to secure access and conduct inspections at key nuclear sites. Despite recent setbacks, the IAEA continues to closely monitor the situation in Iran.

The IAEA is not currently inspecting the three nuclear facilities - Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan - which were targeted by a US bombing campaign in June. Although the agency has not visited these sites yet, it has not observed any signs of substantive nuclear work at the stricken locations.

The IAEA is gradually rebuilding its inspection capabilities in Iran, conducting inspections at other sites while discussions with Iranian authorities regarding access to the bombed facilities continue. The agency remains vigilant, closely following developments in the country.

While the IAEA has not yet inspected the three US-bombed sites in Iran, it has not detected any significant nuclear activity there. The agency is actively negotiating with Iran for access to these facilities, ensuring ongoing monitoring and verification efforts.
