Driver Tries to Trick Police After Accident - Icy windshield leads to €4,000 crash and hit-and-run charges for driver
A 56-year-old driver crashed into a parked car in Neckarwestheim after failing to clear his icy windscreen properly. The incident led to €4,000 in estimated damage and resulted in multiple charges against him. The crash happened when the driver attempted to move off with only a small patch of his windshield cleared. The obscured view prevented him from seeing the parked vehicle in time. After the collision, he left the scene but returned shortly afterwards in a different car—this time with fully defrosted windows. Witnesses had already reported the incident to police, who were waiting at the scene. The driver briefly inspected the damage before leaving again. Authorities later confirmed he would face charges related to the crash and his actions afterwards. The total damage from the collision is estimated at around €4,000. The driver now faces legal consequences for driving with impaired visibility and leaving the scene. Police have not released further details about the ongoing investigation.
