Illegal left turn causes crash with Stuttgart light rail, injuring five
A collision between a car and the U9 light rail line in Stuttgart resulted in significant damage and injuries. Despite the incident, no passengers on the tram were hurt.
The crash occurred when a 57-year-old driver made an illegal left turn, causing the collision. Although the driver's identity remains unknown, he and his four passengers, aged 21 to 85, sustained injuries. Four of them suffered serious injuries. All injured individuals were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The total damage from the crash was estimated at €80,000. Despite the extensive damage, cleanup operations were completed by evening, allowing light rail service to resume.
