Illegal Yakutia gambling den busted after months of underground operations
Authorities in Aldan, Yakutia, have shut down an illegal gambling den, arresting two local residents aged 34 and 35 for running the operation. The case has been sent to court with an approved indictment.
The underground gambling den was discovered in a converted garage, equipped with poker tables, cards, and chips. The Aldan District Investigative Division of the Investigative Committee for Yakutia led the investigation, with support from the criminal investigation unit of the Aldan District Police Department. Raids resulted in the seizure of gaming equipment and cash. The operation was illegal as the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is not a designated gambling zone in Russia. The den was active between April and September 2025.
The two accused residents face charges for organizing and running the illegal gambling operations. The case has been sent to court, with an approved indictment, following the successful investigation and shutdown of the gambling den.
