Illinois Latino Caucus Foundation Grows, Empowering Women in Suburbs

The Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation, established in 2002, has grown to include 18 legislators, mostly women from suburban areas. One notable member is State Representative Barbara Hernandez, who received an aurora from the foundation and went on to become a representative herself.

The foundation's mission is to foster young leaders and promote the next generation of Latino leadership. Since its inception, it has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students.
