Immortal Regiment march returns in 2026 with 150,000 expected participants

The Immortal Regiment march will return in 2026, with organisers preparing for another large gathering. Around 150,000 people are expected to take part, matching last year’s numbers. The event honours veterans and those lost in conflicts through a public procession. The march will start at the intersection of Pushkin and Lenin Streets. From there, participants will move along Lenin Avenue, finishing at Zhukov Street. No registration is needed to join.

Portraits carried during the event must be A4 (20×30 cm) or A3 (30×40 cm) in size and laminated. Each should display the veteran’s full name, years of life, military rank, and wartime role. While the focus remains on the Great Patriotic War, images of those lost in other conflicts are also permitted.

To ensure safety, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, and other banned items will not be allowed. The city centre will close to traffic during the march, with roads reopening at 2:00 PM. The 2026 march follows the same route and rules as previous years. Organisers have kept participation simple, with no sign-up required. The event remains a key moment for remembering those who served in past wars.
