In Armavir, Kirov Lane to be renamed Vitaly Artyukhov Street
A street in Armavir will soon bear the name of a well-known local figure. The City Duma has approved the renaming of Kirov Lane to Vitaly Artyukhov Street after residents pushed for the change. The decision honours a man celebrated for his community work and dedication to the city.
The campaign to rename the lane began with a petition from Armavir residents. They wanted to recognise Vitaly Artyukhov, an Honorary Citizen known for his public service and social initiatives. Before gaining wider attention in late 2024, he ran a small grocery store on Kirov Lane and helped organise neighbourhood events.
The proposal reached the City Duma, where it received full backing from all deputies. Speaker Alexander Polyakov highlighted Artyukhov’s lifelong commitment to Armavir and his role in supporting local projects. The Duma’s unanimous vote confirmed the lane’s new name, marking a formal tribute to his contributions. Artyukhov’s influence extended beyond his early work in the community. His efforts in urban development and public engagement left a lasting impact on the city, prompting residents to call for this permanent recognition.
Kirov Lane will now be known as Vitaly Artyukhov Street. The change reflects the city’s appreciation for his decades of service and community leadership. Officials expect the new street name to serve as a reminder of his legacy in Armavir.
