In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a participant in a special military operation received the keys to an apartment
A veteran of Russia’s special military operation has been given a new home in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Sergei Kuznetsov received the keys to his apartment on December 19, 2025, following a review of housing waitlists. The move came after officials identified him as eligible for state assistance.
The process began when investigators from the military investigative division of the Investigative Committee in the Nizhny Novgorod garrison examined housing records. Working with the regional Ministry of Social Policy and child welfare authorities, they found Kuznetsov’s name among those entitled to support. His service in the special military operation qualified him for the programme.
On December 19, Kuznetsov was handed the keys to his new apartment. After the handover, investigators congratulated him and explained his rights and social benefits. This initiative is part of broader efforts by Russia’s military investigative bodies to provide ongoing social support to veterans of the operation.
Kuznetsov now has a permanent home thanks to the coordinated work of regional and military authorities. The case highlights the system in place to assist veterans with housing needs. Officials continue to monitor and support those eligible for such benefits.
