Inclusion Forum Tackles Disability Challenges for Migrants and Refugees
How can refugees and migrants with disabilities be better supported? This question took center stage at the 15th Inclusion Forum, "Flight. Migration. Disability," held at the Regensburg District Office.
Some 35 experts from counseling services, job centers, and public administration gathered to discuss current challenges and potential solutions—ranging from access to the labor market and language mediation to the proposed GEAS reform, which aims to standardize asylum procedures across the EU through mandatory registration and, in some cases, accelerated processing at external borders.
District Administrator Tanja Schweiger welcomed attendees and emphasized: "This exchange makes one thing clear: networks are key to driving tangible improvements at the local level."
