Incoming Porsche CEO Michael Leiters Skips Volkswagen Board, Blume's Successor Meschke Steps Up
Michael Leiters, the incoming Porsche CEO, is unlikely to join the Volkswagen group's board. Instead, the responsibility of representing sports car and luxury brands will now rest with the entire board.
Oliver Blume, the current CEO of Porsche, has been advocating for a smaller Volkswagen board. He will step down from his Porsche role next year but continue as CEO of Volkswagen, Porsche's majority stakeholder.
Blume's successor, Lutz Meschke, will take over his responsibility of representing sports car and luxury brands in the Volkswagen Group's top decision-making body. Previously, Blume held this role.
With Michael Leiters not joining the board, the entire Volkswagen board will now oversee sports car and luxury brands. Lutz Meschke, the incoming Porsche CEO, will represent these brands in the top decision-making body.
