India and Germany Strengthen Defence Ties in Historic 25-Year Partnership
India and Germany have bolstered their defence ties during a high-level meeting in New Delhi. The two nations co-chaired the India-Germany High Defence Committee, commemorating 25 years of their strategic partnership in 2025. Discussions centered on enhanced military cooperation and joint defence production.
Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and German State Secretary Jens Plotner headed the talks. Both sides concurred to intensify military-to-military cooperation, deeming it a cornerstone of their strategic relationship. They also underscored the necessity for closer industrial ties, especially in specialized defence technologies.
The discussions paved the way for expanded defence collaboration between the two nations. Germany's participation in impending Indian military exercises will further fortify the partnership. Both countries intend to deepen industrial and technological cooperation in the defence sector.
