India flexes naval might on Navy Day with historic beach display
India showcased its naval power on Navy Day with a grand demonstration at Shangumugham beach in Thiruvananthapuram. The event highlighted the country’s growing maritime strength and commitment to self-reliance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu attended the celebrations, marking a significant moment for the Indian Navy.
The Indian Navy’s operational capabilities took centre stage during the demonstration. Held on December 4, the event commemorated the Navy’s role in Operation Trident during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. President Murmu, the chief guest, was hosted by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff.
The Navy Day celebrations underscored India’s progress in building a self-sufficient and formidable naval force.
