India, Thailand Elevate Ties to Strategic Partnership; 'Viksit Bharat Run' Marks Occasion
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Thailand in April 2025 has strengthened bilateral ties, elevating India-Thailand relations to a Strategic Partnership. This significant development was accompanied by a community event, the 'Viksit Bharat Run 3', organised by the Embassy of India in Bangkok, which saw around 300 participants.
The 'Viksit Bharat Run 3' was a three-km community run that brought together locals and Indians living in Thailand. It was a symbol of the growing friendship between the two nations.
Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India has been making significant strides towards becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. Key democratic reforms include expanding state capacity to deliver welfare programs. This includes opening bank accounts for 350 million people, providing gas connections to 80 million households, and building 100 million toilets benefiting 600 million people. These initiatives have improved public service delivery and inclusion.
India's Ambassador to Thailand, Nagesh Singh, highlighted India's economic and technological progress at the Asia Partnership Forum 2025 in Bangkok. He emphasised India's commitment to democratic reforms and its journey towards becoming a 'Viksit Bharat'.
The elevation of India-Thailand relations to a Strategic Partnership and the successful organisation of the 'Viksit Bharat Run 3' reflect the growing cooperation between the two nations. India's democratic reforms, as highlighted by Ambassador Singh, are driving the country towards the goal of becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, with improved public service delivery and inclusion.
