Indian Student Dies in Tragic Germany Fire After Desperate Escape Attempt
A 25-year-old Indian student, Hruthik Reddy, died in a fire accident in Brandenburg, Germany, on December 31. The blaze broke out at his residence near Berlin, spreading rapidly through the building. Reddy, originally from Telangana, had moved to Germany for his studies.
The fire forced Reddy to jump from an upper floor of his apartment in an attempt to escape. He suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he died during treatment.
Reddy had graduated from Vaagdevi College of Engineering in 2022. He was in Germany to pursue further education and had planned to visit his hometown in Telangana’s Jangaon district in mid-January. German authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, Reddy’s family has sought assistance from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Germany to repatriate his remains.
The incident has left Reddy’s family and community in mourning. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire. His body is expected to be returned to India once formalities are completed.
