Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait Celebrates 80th Independence Anniversary with Vibrant Festival

The Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait recently hosted a grand 'Indonesian Independence Festival' to mark the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence. Despite the traditional celebration date falling in August, the event was held in October due to better weather conditions. Around 6,000 Indonesians in Kuwait came together with diplomats, Kuwaiti friends, and media representatives to celebrate their heritage.

The festival, led by volunteers from the Indonesian community, was a vibrant showcase of cultural festivals, unity, and community spirit. It featured cultural shows, artistic performances, music, and traditional games. A culinary zone, part of the 'Indonesia Spice Up the World' campaign, offered a taste of traditional Indonesian festival foods. Notably, the popular traditional competition 'Panjat Pinang' was not held due to safety reasons in Kuwait.

Ambassador Lena Maryana expressed pride in the Indonesian community's spirit and initiative. She praised their involvement in organizing the festival, highlighting the unity and energy they brought to the events led by the embassy. Despite the organizer of the festival not being identified in search results, the Ambassador's words reflected the collective effort and success of the event.

The 'Indonesian Independence Festival' in Kuwait celebrated more than just Indonesia's 80th anniversary of the declaration of independence. It celebrated the unity, energy, and spirit of the Indonesian community cast living abroad. Despite the change in date and the absence of one traditional competition, the festival brought people together, showcasing Indonesia's rich cultural festivals and heritage.
