Indore Man Gets Triple Life Sentence for Rape and Murder of Minor Niece
A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to triple life imprisonment for the rape and murder of his minor niece in Indore. The brutal crime took place in June 2022, shocking the local community. The court also ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 30,000.
The incident occurred on June 21, 2022, when the victim, a young girl, was left alone at home. Later, she was found dead inside her uncle’s room with severe injuries. Marks were visible on her neck, face, and abdomen, while bloodstains were found on her private parts.
The accused was discovered shortly after, injured and covered in blood, with a deep cut on his own neck. Before the verdict was announced, he was given the right to address the court one final time.
The man was convicted under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 376A (causing death during rape), 376(2)(ch) (rape of a minor relative), and 302 (murder). In addition to the triple life sentence, the court recommended Rs 3 lakh in compensation for the victim’s parents.
The conviction brings legal closure to a case that involved extreme violence against a child. The accused now faces three consecutive life terms, along with financial penalties. The compensation ordered for the victim’s family aims to provide some measure of support following their loss.
