Indore’s Khajrana Ganesh Temple prepares for Simhastha with new upgrades
Collector Shivam Verma visited the historic Khajrana Ganesh Temple on Dev Deepawali, offering chhappan bhog to Lord Ganesha. He interacted with devotees and shared the sacred meal at the temple's Ann Kshetra.
Khajrana Ganesh Temple, built during the Holkar dynasty's reign, has a rich history. Its main idol was recovered and protected by Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar. Despite no specific architect being named for its development, it stands as a testament to the dynasty's legacy.
Verma's visit coincides with plans to develop the temple before the upcoming Simhastha. The Bhatt family, temple priests, guided him and discussed improvements to infrastructure and visitor amenities. The temple's Ann Kshetra, which serves free meals daily, will continue to provide for devotees.
