In a recent development, Maurizio De Mitri has taken over as the new President of the Aerospace District of Piedmont (Dap). With a rich background in the aerospace sector, having worked for years at Leonardo, De Mitri is determined to steer the district towards greater heights.

The Dap, a reality that has grown significantly in recent years, boasts a robust presence in the aerospace and defense sector. Notable companies within the district include Leonardo, Avio Aero, Collins, Thales Alenia Space, Altec, and emerging realities like Argotec. The district currently has 99 associated companies, with around fifteen more waiting to join, and an estimated turnover of seven billion.

De Mitri underscores the importance of the Dap being attentive to the current scenario and future prospects. He emphasises the need for coordinated and integrated action, particularly in the implementation of the City of Aerospace project, a future endeavour of interest to him. This project, planned for Turin, is expected to house a dozen different projects and activities.

Recognising the international interest in the aerospace sector, particularly in relation to defense, President De Mitri is open to dialogue with international players, including France and Germany. He aims to promote and support a permanent exchange between companies operating in the sector, beyond the event.

To further bolster the growth of the sector, the Dap plans to offer businesses training packages to support the conversion of part of the Piedmontese industry. De Mitri also promotes exchange and dialogue activities with other Italian districts to share competencies and needs.

The Aerospace & Defence Meetings in Turin serve as an example of interaction between companies in the sector. These meetings provide a platform for companies to network, collaborate, and discuss potential business opportunities.

The Dap, with its deep industrial roots, has a focus on interaction to favour the dimensional growth of companies and the development of the sector through new business opportunities. De Mitri's presidency promises to bring fresh perspectives and a renewed drive to propel the district forward in the dynamic world of aerospace.

Fulvia Quagliotti, the former president of the Dap, hands over the reins to De Mitri with confidence, knowing that the district is in capable hands. Under his leadership, the Dap is poised to make significant strides in the aerospace sector, fostering growth, collaboration, and innovation.
