Intensifying international criticism confronts Israel's military advancement in Gaza, garnering broad rejection and condemnation worldwide

As ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Palestinian groups in Gaza City remain stalled, a humanitarian crisis unfolds within the territory.

The United Nations has called for more trucks waiting outside Gaza to be allowed into the territory and safely distributed, as Israel alleges that Hamas diverts aid from the existing U.N.-led system, an accusation denied by the system.

In the past 24 hours, 11 Palestinians seeking aid were shot dead, and 11 adults died of malnutrition-related causes in Gaza. The Gaza Health Ministry reported 114 new adult deaths from malnutrition-related causes since June, bringing the total to 114.

These tragic incidents have led to international condemnation. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Israel is forcing Palestinians into a state of near-starvation. A separate statement by more than 20 countries, including ceasefire mediators Egypt and Qatar, calls Israel's decision a "dangerous and unacceptable escalation."

In an attempt to alleviate the crisis, at least 106 packages of aid were airdropped by Israel on Saturday, with Italy and Greece participating for the first time. However, the process has been met with criticism, as one man, Mahmoud Hawila, was stabbed while trying to secure an airdropped package. Barefoot children collected rice, pasta, and lentils from the ground after packages spilled open during the airdrops.

The U.N. and independent experts consider the Gaza Health Ministry, part of the Hamas-run government, the most reliable source on war casualties. Israeli forces are accused of killing at least 11 people seeking aid in southern and central Gaza, an allegation denied by Israel's military.

Israel's security cabinet approved a plan for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to take control of Gaza City while continuing humanitarian assistance outside combat zones. Prime Minister Netanyahu reaffirmed the five core principles Israel considers essential to ending the war, echoing the previously mentioned demands.

Despite these ongoing tensions, mediators Egypt and Qatar are preparing a new ceasefire framework that includes the release of all hostages in one go in return for the war's end and the withdrawal of Israeli forces. Families of hostages are rallying to pressure the Israeli government to save the hostages and end the offensive.

U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to meet with Qatar's prime minister to discuss a new proposal to end the war. The hope remains that a peaceful resolution can be found, ending the suffering of the people of Gaza and bringing an end to the conflict.
